Privacy Policy & Data Protection
Last updated: June 12, 2026
At Skillvicta, we are committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have — in full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU 2016/679) and Portuguese Law No. 58/2019.
1. Who We Are
Skillvicta is a freelance recruitment service based in the Azores, Portugal, connecting candidates with companies seeking talent. We act as an intermediary — we do not employ candidates directly, nor do we charge candidates for our services.
For any privacy-related questions, contact us at support@skillvicta.com.
2. What Data We Collect and Why
We only collect personal data that you voluntarily provide to us. Depending on whether you are a candidate or a company, this may include:
If you are a candidate (Find Job form):
Full name — to identify you and personalise our communication
Email address — to get in touch with you about relevant opportunities
Phone number (optional) — as an alternative means of contact
Message — to understand your background, goals or availability
If you choose to send us your CV by email, the personal data contained in that document will also be processed for the same purposes described below.
If you are a company (Find Talent form):
Full name or contact person — to identify who we are speaking with
Email address — to respond to your enquiry and discuss your hiring needs
Phone number (optional) — as an alternative means of contact
Message — to understand the role or talent you are looking for
3. How We Use Your Data
For candidates, we use your data to respond to your enquiry, evaluate potential matches with available opportunities, and contact you in the future when a relevant position arises that may be of interest to you.
For companies, we use your data solely to respond to your enquiry and discuss how Skillvicta can support your recruitment needs.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making, profiling, or any purpose other than those described above.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data based on the following legal grounds under Article 6 of the GDPR:
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): by submitting the contact form, you consent to us processing your data for the purposes described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at support@skillvicta.com.
Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): keeping your contact details on file to reach out about future opportunities constitutes a legitimate interest, provided it does not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.
5. How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary:
Contact form submissions with no follow-up activity will be deleted or anonymised within 2 years of the last interaction.
If an active recruitment process is initiated, data will be retained for the duration of that process and for up to 2 years thereafter.
Any data subject to a legal retention obligation (e.g. correspondence with fiscal relevance) will be kept for the period required by Portuguese law, not exceeding 10 years.
After these periods, your data will be securely and irreversibly deleted.
6. Sharing Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial or advertising purposes.
Your data may only be shared in the following circumstances:
With companies seeking candidates, but only with your prior knowledge and in the context of a specific opportunity you have expressed interest in or agreed to be considered for.
With technical service providers necessary for the operation of this website (e.g. web hosting), who are bound by confidentiality obligations and GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.
With competent authorities (judicial, fiscal or regulatory) when required by law.
7. International Data Transfers
Our website infrastructure may involve service providers located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this is the case, we ensure that any transfer takes place on the basis of appropriate legal safeguards, such as European Commission adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).
8. Your Rights
Under Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Right of access — to know whether we hold data about you and to obtain a copy
Right to rectification — to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
Right to erasure — to request deletion of your data when it is no longer necessary
Right to restriction — to request that we temporarily stop processing your data
Right to data portability — to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interests
Right to withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@skillvicta.com. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority:
